• 背景：P63 gene is a member of p53 gene family. This gene is located on chromosome 3q27-28, encoding more than 6 major isoforms which mainly involve in transcriptional kinase activity, death inducing activity (TAP63) and chromogenic inactivation activity. During the embryonic period, p63 protein is necessary for development of a variety of epithelial and organ. p63 can be expressed in myoepithelial cells, and its effect is better than SMA. While it is not expressed in myofibroblasts. Recent studies show that p63 is a marker for prostate basal cells, and is not expressed in most prostate tumors, the meaning of which is similar to that of 34bE12. Due to the nuclear positive staining of p63 and cytoplasm staining of P504S, so it is easy to judge the results if combines these two together.
