Background:Cadherin-3 (also known as P-cadherin)is a classical cell-to-cell adhesion molecule with a homeostatic function in several normal tissues.
In humans, cadherin-3 is only detected in a few organs.
However, its overexpression is strongly associated with a poor prognosis in some solid tumors including breast, lung and pancreatic cancers.
