Background：Proprotein convertase subtilysin/Kexin Type4 (PCSK4) is a protein convertase enzymes in spermatozoa acrosome membrane, it has an important role in the acrosome reaction through endoproteolytic process that converts the precursor proteins into bioactive protein as a necessary substance to penetrate on the zona pellucida (PMID: 16040806 ). The molecular mass of pro-PCSK4 is 72kDa, and mature PCSK4 is 54 kDa (PMID: 16040806, 19109312).
