Background:CD14 is a 55 kDa protein, which functions as a receptor for the complex of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and LPS-binding protein (LPB). CD14 is primarily expressed on monocytes and macrophages. The antibody is of value in the detection of normal and neoplastic cells of the monocytic cell lineage, and in the immunophenotyping of acute myeloid leukemia.
