Background:p57KIP2 is inhibitor and tumor suppressor gene of the cyclin dependent kinase (CDK). p57KIP2 can be in negative regulation of the cell cycle by inhibiting the G1/S transformation, thus to prevent the formation and proliferation of tumor cells. In pregnancy endometrium, decidua cells show positive expression of P57, but the secretion of glands shows negative. This antibody can be used for diagnosis of complete and incomplete hydatidiform mole.
