特異性:This item recognises an epitope within the C-terminal region (CT) of Activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID), a 24kDa homologue of the RNA-editing cytidine deaminase enzyme, APOBEC-1. Although the molecular mechanisms by which AID acts remain unclear, a growing number of studies reveal a requirement for AID during somatic hypermutation (SHM) and class switch recombination (CSR). These genetic modification events take place within highly specialised B cell germinal centres, during the final maturation stages of B cells, giving rise to high-affinity antibodies which use CSR to switch from IgM to IgG, IgA or IgE isotypes.
