CD44 is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed on lymphocytes, monocytes and granulocytes.
CD44 is also known as homing cell adhesion molecule (H-CAM), Phagocytic glycoprotein-1 (PgP-1), ECM-III, HUTCH-1 or Hermes-1.
CD44 has been implicated in cell migration, in lymphocyte homing and in tumor metastasis.
This antibody enhances IL-2 production by CD2-transfected murine hybridoma stimulated by JY cells while it has no significant effect on IL-2 production by Jurkat cells stimulated with CD3, PMA or CD2 (1).
This antibody enhances proliferation of PBL stimulated with CD2 (1).
Applications:Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution:Immunoprecipitation: 2ug Ab/mg protein lysate, Use Protein A; Native verified
Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2 hrs.

Immunohistochemistry: 1-2ug/ml for 30min.
at RT; Note: Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min., followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:HUVEC or HeLa Cells.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Specificity：Recognizes CD44 at 80-95kD. Epitope is resistant to digestion by trypsin and chymotrypsin. Reacts with red cells pretreated with 2-aminoethylisothiouronium bromide (AET). Digestion of intact erythrocytes by trypsin treatment left a 50-54kD protein fragment attached to the membrane. Digestinon with chymotrypsin left a somewhat similarly sized 51-56kD component. Species Crossreactivity: Human, baboon and green monkey. Does not crossreact with rat.
