CD44 is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed on lymphocytes, monocytes and granulocytes.
CD44 is also known as homing cell adhesion molecule (H-CAM), Phagocytic glycoprotein-1 (PgP-1), ECM-III, HUTCH-1 or Hermes-1.
CD44 has been implicated in cell migration, in lymphocyte homing and in tumor metastasis.
Epitope is resistant to digestion by trypsin and chymotrypsin.
Digestion of intact erythrocytes by trypsin treatment left a 50-54kD protein fragment attached to the membrane.
Digestion with chymotrypsin left a somewhat similarly sized 51-56kD component.
Enhances proliferation of PBL stimulated with CD2 and IL-2 production by CD2-transfected murine hybridoma stimulated by JY cells.
No significant effect on IL-2 production by Jurkat cells stimulated with CD3, PMA, or CD2.
Applications:Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2hrs at RT.
Immunopreciptiation (Native): 2ug/mg protein lysate using Protein A.
Immunohistochemistry (formalin/paraffin): 1-2ug/ml for 30 min at RT.
Note: Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min., followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:HUVEC or HeLa cells, tonsil and esophageal carcinoma.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage, store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
