Cyclin E is a regulatory subunit of cdk-2 and controls G1/S transition during the mammalian cell cycle.
Multiple isoforms of cyclin E are expressed only in tumors but not in the normal tissues.
Qualitative and quantitative alterations in cyclin E protein have been implicated as indicators of worse prognosis in various cancers.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, and Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml detects cyclin E (~52kD) in 20ug of human A431 lysate.
Non-stimulated A431 cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF and probed with C8455-05 (1ug/ml).
Proteins were visualized by using an IgG (HRP) goat anti-mouse secondary antibody and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Immunoprecipitation: 4ug immunoprecipitated cyclin E from 500ug of human A431 RIPA cell lysate as confirmed by Western Blot analysis of the immunoprecipitate using rabbit polyclonal anti-cyclin E.
Immunocytochemistry: 10ug/ml detected cyclin E in 50% ethanol/50% acetic acid-fixed human A431 cells.
