• Digoxin is a drug originally derived from the foxglove plant, Digitalis lanata.
• Digoxin is used primarily to improve the pumping ability of the heart in congestive heart failure (CHF).
• It is also used to help normalize some dysrhythmias (abnormal types of heartbeat).
