Biotin-PEG-SH is used for PEGylation by binding to streptavidin or avidin with high affinity and specificity. Biotin is conjugated to a linear PEG through a stable amide linker. It has a reactive free thiol, SH, cysteine, sulfhydryl, or mercapto group that selectively reacts with maleimide and novel metal surface including gold, silver, etc.. It is useful for reversible PEGylation.
Storage and Stability:Store at -20°C under inert atmosphere. Desiccate. Protect from air. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
