• Neuregulin-1 (NRG1), also known as ARIA, is one of four proteins in the neuregulin family that act on the EGFR family of receptors. It has multiple isoforms that are generated by usage of different promoters and alternative splicing of a single gene. This protein regulates multiple nervous system functions including axon guidance, synapse formation and plasticity, glial cell development, and axon myelination. In the heart, it regulates organ morphogenesis and contractility and also plays a cardioprotective role following tissue injury. NRG1 is essential for the development and function of multiple organ systems, and its dysregulation has been linked to diseases such as cancer and schizophrenia.

• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
