• LBP, also known as Lipopolysaccharide-binding protein, is a glycoprotein member of the BPI/LBP family of lipidbinding proteins. LBP is a glycoprotein that is synthesized principally by hepatocytes. It binds to the lipid A moiety of bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS), a glycolipid present in the outer membrane of all Gram-negative bacteria. It binds to LPS to elicit immune responses by presenting the LPS to important cell surface pattern recognition receptors called CD14 and TLR4.

• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
