• Intein-CBD, also known as Intein, is a segment of a protein that is able to excise itself and rejoin the remaining portions with a peptide bond. Most reported inteins also contain an endonuclease domain that plays a role inintein propagation. In fact, many genes have unrelated intein-coding segments inserted at different positions. Since then, inteins have been found in all three domains of life (eukaryotes, bacteria, and archaea) and in viruses.

• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
