Neural StemCell Growth complete medium is formulated for optimal growth of human neural stem cells (NSCs) allowing for an average doubling time of approximately 48 hours. Neural StemCell Growth medium contains glutamine but no antibiotics. After all the components are added to the basal medium and filtered to ensure sterility, the media is complete and ready to use for expansion of human or rat neural stem cells.
Culturing Conditions:These NSCs grow best when cultured in a humidified incubator set at 6% CO2, 37°C and oxygen concentrations below 3% O2.
Preparing Neural StemCell Growth Medium:1. Warm Neural StemCell Growth basal medium to room temperature2. Thaw Neural StemCell Growth Supplement and growth factors to room temperature3. Aseptically add the supplements to the basal medium in this ordera. Neural StemCell Growth Supplement - transfer entire contents of the vial then rinse the vial with Neural StemCell Growth basal mediumb. Growth factors and proprietary factor4. Antibiotics are optional but may be added. The cells have been tested in media containing 150ul of Gentamicin (50mg/ml) in 250ml media
5. Filter through 0.22um filter unit6. Store the complete medium at 4°C in the dark until ready for use7. Warm the complete medium to room temperature immediately before use
a. Do not leave the complete medium in a water-bath for longer than 5 minutes as this may result in degradation of the growth factors and glutamine8. Use Neural StemCell Growth complete medium within two weeks
Storage and Stability:Store the complete medium at 4°C in the dark until ready for use.
