With enhanced performance for high molecular weight proteins, the BioSeparation™ Protein Marker consists of 10 pre-stained proteins that resolve into sharp, tight bands covering a wide range of molecular weights from 6.5 to 270kD. This protein ladder allows you to monitor protein separation during electrophoresis, estimate molecular weight of the protein of interest, and evaluate western blot transfer efficiency. Proteins are covalently coupled with a blue chromophore except for three reference bands (two orange bands at 30kD and 27kD and one green band at 52kD) when separated on gel.
Applications:Designed for monitoring protein migration during SDS-PAGE, monitoring efficiency of protein transfer onto PVDF or nitrocellulose for Western Blotting, as well as sizing of proteins on SDS-PAGE and Western Blots
Note:The apparent molecular weight (kD) of each protein has been determined by calibration against unstained protein standards; supplemental data should be considered for more accurate adjustment in different electrophoresis conditions.
Bands:10
Protein Range:6.5kD-270kD
Usage:Mix gently by pipetting up and down a few time, then directly load 5ul into well of gel.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
