Prestained Protein Ladder, 15-180kD, 3Color/9Proteins is a three-color protein standard with 9 pre-stained proteins covering a wide range molecular weight from 15-180kD. Proteins are covalently coupled with a blue chromophore except for four reference bands (two green bands at 15kD and 60kD and two red bands at 30kD and 75kD respectively) when separated on SDS-PAGE (Tris-glycine buffer).
Applications:The Prestained Protein Ladder is designed for monitoring protein separated during SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, verification of Western transfer efficiency on membranes (PVDF, nylon or nitrocellulose) and for approximate sizing of proteins. The ladder is supplied in gel loading buffer and is ready to use.
Storage Buffer:~0.2-0.4mg/ml of each protein in buffer (20mM Tris-phosphate, pH 7.5 at 25°C), 2% SDS, 0.2mM Dithiothreitol, 3.6M urea, and 15% glycerol.
Reaction Setup:3ul or 5ul per loading for clear visualization during electrophoresis on 15-well or 10-well mini-gel, respectively. 2.5ul per well for general Western transferring.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
