• IL-1RA/IL-1F3, also known as interleukin-1 receptor antagonist, is a glycosylated protein and a powerful antiinflammatory agent. IL‐1RA is a pan‐physiological inhibitor of IL‐1 that prevents the activation of IL‐1 receptors by inhibiting IL‐1 binding to its receptors. It can inhibit angiogenesis by blocking the activation of theIL‐1/PI3K/NF‐kappaB pathway in IL‐1‐producing human colon cancer cells. Also, Several autoimmune and inflammatory diseases have been associated with an allelic polymorphism of the IL-1RA. Recombinant human IL1RA was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

• Biological Activity:The activity is determined by the IFN-g ELISA in a using NK-92 human natural killer cells. The ED50 range ≤10ng/ml.
• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
