Manganese peroxidase from white-rot fungus (Phanerochaete chrysosporium) is a lignin-modifying peroxidase that catalyzes the oxidation of Mn2+ to Mn3+. Mn3+ is stabilized by chelators like oxalic acid. Manganese peroxidase has a molecular weight of 40-50kD] and is a glycosylated heme protein.
