The spike protein (S) of coronavirus (CoV) attaches the virus to its cellular receptor, angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). A defined receptor-binding domain (RBD) on S mediates this interaction. The S protein plays key parts in the induction of neutralizing-antibody and T-cell responses, as well as protective immunity.
Recombinant protein corresponding to Val16-Arg685 form 2019-nCoV Spike S1, fused to His-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in HEK293 cells.
Biological Activity:Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Recombinant 2019-nCoV Spike S1 at 2ug/mL (100ul/well) can bind Recombinant Human ACE2 with a linear range of 0.5-8.7ng/ml
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
