• MMP-2, also known as Matrix metalloproteinase-2, is one of the the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family.It is involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. It has a role in myocardial cell death pathways and contributes to myocardial oxidative stress by regulating the activity of GSK3 beta. This protein cleaves GSK3 beta in vitro and involved in the formation of the fibrovascular tissues.

• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
