Colloidal gold can be used to visualize localization of specific saccharide moieties and examine the distribution of plasma membrane glycoproteins based on the binding pattern of Succinylated Triticum vulgaris Lectin (Succ WGA). Colloidal gold labeled lectins can be viewed via electron microscopy.
