Members of the Janus family of tyrosine kinases (Jak1, Jak2, Jak3, and Tyk2) are activated by ligands binding to a number of associated cytokine receptors. Upon cytokine receptor activation, Jak proteins become autophosphorylated and phosphorylate their associated receptors to provide multiple binding sites for signaling proteins. These associated signaling proteins, such as Stats, Shc, insulin receptor substrates, and focal adhesion kinase (FAK), typically contain SH2 or other phospho- tyrosine-binding domains.
Specificity:Human
Intended Use:The Jak Isoform Antibody Sampler BioAssay™ Kit provides an economical means to examine several Jak isoforms. The kit contains enough primary and secondary antibodies to perform two Western blot experiments per primary antibody.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
