So far, 19 kinds of ALDH isozymes have been found. There are mainly four kinds of ALDH1-4, of which ALDH2 is the most important with a high expression in the liver and stomach, and is one of the key enzymes in the human body's ethanol metabolism. Human ALDH2 gene main polymorphism is the single base 1510G> A located at the 12th exon. The wild type with catalytic activity is called G allele (ALDH2*1). ALDH2 and nitroglycerin treatment:Nitroglycerin is a classic drug for the treatment of angina pectoris.
