- 5,6-Dihydroabiraterone is analog or impurity of Abiraterone (A108490) drug, which is a steroidal cytochrome P 450 17α-hydroxylase-17,20-lyase inhibitor (CYP17). Abiraterone blocks androgen synthesis and prolongs survival in patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer. It is a potential drug for the treatment of androgen-dependent prostate cancer.
