- (3R,S)-Oxidosqualene is an impurity in the synthesis of Squalene 2,3:22,23-Dioxide (S683810) which is accumulated intracellularly during the inhibition of cholesterol biosynthesis in Chinese hamster ovary cells. (3R,S)-Oxidosqualene is also a precursor to Ginsenosides found in rice. (3R,S)-Oxidosqualene is the substrate for the enzyme Oxidosqualene cyclase.
