2'-epi DTA-1 is derived from Benzaldehyde (B119740), which is mainly used as a precursor to other organic compounds, such as pharmaceuticals, and plastic additives. It is also the primary component of bitter almond oil and can be extracted from a number of other natural sources, and thus can be used for the almond flavor.
