- 2-Amino-4-methylimidazole is used as a reagent in the synthesis of 1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine-7-carboxamides as novel allosteric mGluR5 antagonists. Also used as a reagent in the synthesis of imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidin-5(1H)-ones as beta isoform selective phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) inhibitors.
