- 11-hydroxy-3-oxo-androstane-17-carboxylic Acids an intermediate in the synthesis of 11β-Hydroxy-3-oxo-androsta-1,4-diene-17β-carboxylic Acid which is itself an impurity of Prednisolone (P703740), which is a synthetic glucocorticoid, a derivative of cortisol, and can be used to treat a variety of inflammatory and auto-immune conditions. It is also the active metabolite of the drug prednisone.
