1,6-Di(methyl-d3)-naphthalene has been used in the preparation of di(trideuteriomethyl)naphthalenes. 1,6-Di(methyl-d3)-naphthalene is the labeled analogue of 1,6-Dimethylnaphthalene (D476370), a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) that can be found in biosolids, treated sewage sludge, and has shown induction of hepatic CYP1A protein and DNA damage on pimephales promelas.
