Urea is the major final-product of protein metabolism in the body, which constitutes the clear majority of non-protein nitrogen in blood. Blood urea come from the liver, which excreted with urine through kidney. Renal function failure, nephritis, urinary tract obstruction and so on can make the content of blood urea increased.
Sample Type:Serum, plasma, urine
Intended Use:This kit can be used for detection of urea content in animal serum, plasma, urine and other samples.
Range:2.9~8.2 mmol/L
Test Principle:Urea can be decomposed into ammonia ion and carbon dioxide by urease. Ammonia ion can react with phenol chromogenic agent and form a blue material in alkaline medium, and the production of this material is proportional to the urea content. Urea content can be calculated with the colorimetric assay at 640nm.
Storage and Stability:Store powder at 4°C liquid at -20°C. Store other components at 4°C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
