Intended Use:This kit can measure HK activity of a variety of animal erythrocyte, whole blood and other samples.
Test Principle:Hexokinase widely present in the cells which use sugars as the main energy, and the concentration in yeast, liver, muscle, brain are most abundant. The enzyme can be crystallized. Animal hexokinase exist in vivo as isoenzyme. Hereditary hexokinase deficiency is one of the causes for hemolytic anemia with non-spherical cell. Establishing the assay method for hexokinase is extremely important for study unexplained hemolysis. Utilizing the couping reaction with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6- PD), and providing a sufficient amount of substrate, we can measure the increase value of absorbance with 340nm wavelength to reflect the HK activity.
Storage and Stability:Store powder at 4°C liquid at -20°C. Store other components at 4°C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
