• This Bordetella pertussis toxin has been developed in response to the increasing pressure on the IVD industry to supply highly specific, cost-effective antibody capture systems, which are needed for monitoring vaccination programs. FHA, a major cause of false results, is removed from the preparation by two rounds of chromatography. Bordetella pertussis is grown in batch culture, then the supernatant harvested and concentrated. Several rounds of chromatography are used to purify the native toxin to a very high level and with minimal lot-to-lot variation.
• Source:Purified native pertussis toxin from B. pertussis strain NC10739/ACTC 9797.
• Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
• Purity:Migrates as five distinct bands (two doublets) when run under denaturing polyacrylamide SDS urea gels. Purity on SDS-PAGE is >98%.
• CHO Cell Assay:1pg/ml (Lowest concentration of toxin at which a positive response (clustered growth pattern) is obtained is < or = 0.01)
• Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
