NOV (nephroblastoma overexpressed), also known as CCN3, is a matricellular protein that in humans is encoded by the NOV gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a small secreted cysteine-rich protein and a member of the CCN family of regulatory proteins. This gene is mapped to 8q24.12. NOV is a potentially useful marker for the diagnosis of adrenal gland diseases, malignant adrenocortical tumors, multiple sclerosis and so on. Moreover, reduced expression of NOV in ACTs may play an important role in the process of childhood ACT tumorigenesis. Though studying, it identified Nov as a regulator of human hematopoietic stem or progenitor cells.

Specificity:Recognizes natural and recombinant Mouse NOV/CCV3. There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins.
Test Principle:This Mouse NOV/CCN3 BioAssay™ ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune- sorbent assay technology. A specific for NOV/CCN3 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards(Expression system for standard: NSO; Immunogen sequence: Q22-I354) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection specific for NOV/CCN3 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Mouse NOV/CCN3 amount of sample captured in plate.

Storage and Stability:Store powder at 4°C liquid at -20°C. Store other components at 4°C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
