SIGLEC5, also known as sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 5, belongs to immunoglobulin superfamily and SIGLEC family. This protein is composed of 2 Ig-like C2-type domains and 1 Ig-like V-type domain. Also, it is expressed by monocytic/myeloid lineage cells. It is found at high levels in peripheral blood leukocytes, spleen, and at lower levels in lymph node, appendix, pancreas, lung, and thymus.
