OLR1, as known as oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor 1, is a type 2 transmembrane receptor belonging to the C-type lectin family. It belongs to the functionally defined scavenger receptor (SR) superfamily. This protein is the first member of the class E scavenger receptor subfamily. Also, this protein may play a role in the progression of vulnerable carotid plaque and might regulate vulnerable plaque formation in cooperation with MMPs and TIMP2.
