GFRA3, also known as GDNF family receptor alpha-3, is a plasma membrane glycoprotein. This protein is one of the four GDNF receptors, all of which are glycosylphosphoinositol (GPI)-linked, contain three conserved cysteine repeats, and involved survival of neurons. Also, it promotes the formation of a physical complex between GFRA/GDNFRa and the orphan tyrosine kinase receptor Ret, thereby inducing its tyrosine phosphorylation.
