Arsa, also known as arylsulfatase A, is a prototype member of the sulfatase family. It is an enzyme that catalyzes the degradation of sulfatides, a glycosphingolipid found in many tissues, but predominantly in myelin and kidney. The serum level of its might be helpful in diagnosis of lung and central nervous system cancer.
