ADH1A, also known as alcohol dehydrogenase 1A, belongs to the alcohol dehydrogenase family. It plays a key role in hepatic alcohol catabolism. Its activity may be the cause of disorders in metabolic pathways that use these isoenzymes and could increase the concentration of acetaldehyde, which is cancerogenic substance. It is positively correlated with those of CDR1, CDR2 and FLU1.
