• Specificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of guinea pig Free-T3. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between guinea pig Free-T3 and analogues was observed.
• Test Principle:This BioAssay™ employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Free-T3. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Biotin-conjugated Free-T3. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between Free-T3 (Standards or samples) and Biotin-conjugated Free-T3 with the pre-coated antibody specific for Free-T3. The more amount of Free-T3 in samples, the less antibody bound by Biotin-conjugated Free-T3. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of Free-T3 in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
