• Glk belongs to the bacterial glucokinase family. This protein is not highly important in E. coli as glucose is transported into the cell by the PTS system already as glucose 6-phosphate.
• Source:Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-321 from E. coli glk, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli.

• Specific Activity:>70units/mg, obtained by measuring the increase of NADPH in absorbance at 340nm resulting from the reduction of NADP. One unit will oxidize 1umole of Glucose to D-glucose 6-phosphate/minute in the presence of Beta-NADP at pH 9.0 at 37°C.

• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
