GBA, also known as glucosylceramidase isoform 1, is a lysosomal enzyme that presumably requires a signal peptide for transport across the membrane of the rough endoplasmic reticulum and glycosylation for transport into lysosomes. Gaucher disease is due to a deficiency in the activity of the enzyme glucocerebrosidase.
Source:Recombinant protein corresponding to aa40-536 from human GBA, fused to His-tag at C-terminal expressed in insect cell.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
