• KARS, also known as Lysyl-tRNA synthetase, belongs to the class-II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family. It exists as both mitochondrial and cytoplasmic isoforms produced by alternative splicing, and thought to play a role in autoimmune diseases, such as polymyositis or dermatomyositis. This protein functions to catalyze the aminoacylation of tRNAs by their corresponding amino acids, thus linking amino acids with tRNA-contained nucleotide triplets.

• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C.
