• Carboxymethylenebutenolidase homolog, also known as CMBL, is a cysteine hydrolase of the dienelactone hydrolase family that is highly expressed in liver cytosol. CMBL is the human homolog of Pseudomonas dienelactone hydrolase, a protein that participates in the bacterial halocatechol degradation pathway. CMBL is inhibited by p-chloromercuribenzoate (PCMB) and is encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 5p15.2.

• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
