• Transforming growth factor betas (TGF Betas) mediate many cell-cell interactions that occur during embryonic development. Three TGF Betas have been identified in mammals. TGF Beta 1, TGF Beta 2 and TGF Beta 3 are each synthesized as precursor proteins that are very similar in that each is cleaved to yield a 112aa polypeptide that remains associated with the latent portion of the molecule.
• Source:Recombinant protein corresponding to aa177-391 from human TGF B1, expressed in E. coli.
• Molecular Weight:~51kD (SDS-PAGE including GST tag)
• Biological Activity:The ED50, as determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of murine 7TD1 cells, is <0.1ng/ml.
• AA Sequence:The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Ala-Leu-Asp-Thr-Asn.
• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
