Test Principle:The Stool DNA Isolation BioAssay™ Kit is designed for the purification of genomic DNA fragment from stool samples in a spin column format. No phenol-chloroform, protease or precipitation steps are involved in isolating DNA. Isolation of the DNA is performed by lysing the cells in a solution containing chaotropic salts and detergent. 100% ethanol is added to the sample, before applying to the spin columns. Under these conditions the DNA binds to the membrane while other contaminants are washed through. The column is then washed to further remove protein, buffer components and other contaminants using two ethanol containing wash buffers. Incubation of the Spin column membrane with TE buffer and a final centrifugation step leads to the elution of the DNA. The final DNA product can be used directly for quantitative PCR and other downstream applications.

Quality Control:A representative kit from the same lot is randomly selected for isolation of DNA from stool. The quality and purity of isolated DNA were measured by 1% agarose gel electrophoresis andspectrophotometer.
Storage and Stability:Store powder at 4°C liquid at -20°C. Store other components at 4°C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
