• Proflavine is a small, amphipathic, acridine-derived fluorescent dye.Proflavine hemisulfate is used as a rapid stain for cytological studies of biological specimens. It stains cytoplasmic structures and nuclei. Proflavine has the capability to intercalate double stranded DNA.
