Potent endogenous melanocortin receptor 2 (MC2) agonist (EC50 = 57 pM). Component of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis that stimulates glucocorticoid production and release from the adrenal cortex. Induces insulin resistance, promotes a proinflammatory profile and stimulates UCP-1 in adipocytes in vitro.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute (see reconstitution instructions for peptides) and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
