• Specificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of rat VB12. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between rat VB12 and analogues was observed.
• Test Principle:This BioAssay™ employs the direct competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for VB12 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with biotin-conjugated VB12. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between VB12 (Standards or samples) and biotin-conjugated VB12 with the pre-coated VB12 antibody. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in opposite to the amount of VB12 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

• Storage and Stability:Store powder at 4°C liquid at -20°C. Store other components at 4°C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
