特徴

• This gene encodes a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. This cytokine is mainly secreted by macrophages. It can bind to, and thus functions through its receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. This cytokine is involved in the regulation of a wide spectrum of biological processes including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation. This cytokine has been implicated in a variety of diseases, including autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer. Knockout studies in mice also suggested the neuroprotective function of this cytokine.

• Specificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of porcine TNFA. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between porcine TNFA and analogues was observed.
• Test Principle:This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for TNFA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any TNFA present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TNFA is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TNFA bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
